Toronto broke a 69-year-old temperature record yesterday

It was hot in Toronto yesterday. So hot, in fact, that it was officially the hottest October 9 in 69 years.

According to Environment Canada, the temperature on Tuesday reached a high of 29°C.

The warmest October 9 prior to yesterday was in 1949, when the recorded high was 28.3°C. The average high for this time of year is generally around 15.6°C, according to Environment Canada.

So yes, it was hot yesterday.

And this warmth continues over the next few days so enjoy it before the cold returns this weekend.
