The Toronto police have informed the public they’ve made four arrests in connection to an ongoing ‘swarming’ robbery investigation.

Police say between Tuesday, June 19 and Monday, June 25, several swarmings were reported in the Christie Pits Park and Dufferin Grove Park areas.

Victims were allegedly robbed by a group of males who, in some instances, held their victims at knifepoint, were struck in a violent manner, and had their property stolen.

It is further alleged that in one instance, one of the male suspects indicated he was carrying a handgun.

On Monday, June 25, four teenaged boys were arrested and they now face 54 charges. However, they cannot be named under the provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act.

According to police, a 17-year-old boy, of Toronto, was charged with 11 counts of robbery with an offensive weapon, four counts of possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000 and nine counts of failing to comply with a Young Offenders Act disposition.

A second 17-year-old boy from Toronto was charged with 11 counts of robbery with an offensive weapon, possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000, two counts of carrying a concealed weapon, three counts of failing to comply with recognizance and three counts of failing to comply with a Young Offenders Act disposition.

A 15-year-old boy of Toronto was charged with two counts of robbery with an offensive weapon, three counts of possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000 and failing to comply with recognizance.

Finally, an additional 15-year-old boy from Toronto was charged with two counts of robbery with an offensive weapon, possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000 and failing to comply with conditions of an undertaking given by an OIC.
