Happy International Women’s Day, Toronto!
Since the early 1900s, brave women have been standing up for the rights of future female generations.
And now, more than ever, we need to continue moving forward towards gender equality, and there’s no better time to demonstrate this than on International Women’s Day.
Today, we celebrate women’s economic, political, social, and cultural achievements globally.

HBO x TIFF Transforms: International Women’s Day
What: In honour of International Women’s Day, TIFF and HBO have teamed up to offer Torontonians with a full day and night of amazing FREE programming. Screenings include Olive Kitteridge, Love Crimes Of Kabul and Suited on the big screen. There will also be a free Insecure panel discussion happening at 8 pm.

International Women’s Day Event – Discover Your Potential
What: Come and discover your potential and feel empowered, as you chat with wellness experts about lifestyle, nutrition, and wellness goals. Women can also enjoy lifestyle coaching, headshots, and Thai massages. Admission is free!
When: March 8, 12 pm to 2 pm
Where: 128 Peter Street
Fierce Fitness Fundraiser
What: Tonight, you can break a sweat for a good cause. Find Your Fierce is hosting two dance classes this evening with all proceeds going to support the Covenant House. On the agenda tonight is a heels optional dance class and a high-energy cardio dance class. No dance experience is necessary.

IWD @ DX: Doin’ It For Themselves
What: The Design Exchange is hosting an evening of discussion with badass women, who are all entrepreneurial game-changers. Speakers include Odessa Paloma Parker, head of content at Van der Pop, Camille Mitchell, executive director at BEAT and Kristal Lewis, founder of Senior Care Connect. This event is free to attend, but registration is required.

Women Brewers Beer Dinner
What: Come celebrate women everywhere over a few craft beers at this brewers dinner hosted by the Society of Beer Drinking Ladies. All genders are welcome to taste a variety of beers brewed by women followed by a buffet-style dinner with beer pairings guided by women brewers. Dinner costs $85, and a portion of proceeds will be donated to the Canadian Women’s Foundation.

Women’s Day With Bad Girl Collective
What: Today, as the world recognizes the brilliance and endless achievements of women globally, the Drake Hotel and Bad girl Collective wants to recognize the fierce women here in Toronto. Rally your women-loving gang and join the Bad Girls for a very special evening in The Drake Hotel Sky Yard. Enjoy Rose Aura photography, a specialty Women’s Day-themed cocktail list with proceeds going towards Sistering: A Woman’s Place.

IWD Concert
What: If you’re in the mood for live music, you’re going to want to check out this empowering concert tonight. Toronto Womxn In Music and herHABITAT are joining forces to host an evening of music featuring Skye Wallace, Winona Wilde, Lydia Persaud and Merival. There will also be a silent auction and pop-up vendors to check out. Admission is $10 and all proceeds from the event and silent auction will benefit Sistering: A Woman’s Place.
