Extreme Cold Weather Alert issued by City of Toronto today

It’s almost like we live in Canada or something.

Just two days before winter officially arrives, the City of Toronto has issued yet another Extreme Cold Weather Alert – the third in four days.

The City does so when:

The Medical Officer of Health will issue Extreme Cold Weather Alerts when Environment Canada forecasts a temperature of -15 °C or colder or a wind chill of -20 or colder in the City of Toronto.

Extreme Cold Weather Alerts may also be issued at warmer temperatures when Environment Canada’s weather forecast includes factors that increase the impact of cold weather on health such as precipitation, low daytime temperatures, or several days and nights of cold weather in a row.

Currently, Environment Canada is only predicting a low of -11°C later tonight while The Weather Network says it ‘feels like’ -14°C right now in Toronto.

Whether an alert is warranted or not, one thing’s for sure, it’s cold in Toronto right now and it’s going to continue to be all day and night long.

Remember to dress warmly. Or just try to leave your bed as little as possible today – duvets are always great remedies for cold weather.
