Dec 5 2018, 3:19 am

Toronto police have released security video of a man being sucker punched and knocked unconsciously by a sucker punch inside a west end restaurant.

According to police, just after 1:15 am on November 12, officers were called to an assault call at an A&W restaurant in the Lansdowne Avenue and Quen Street West area.

In the video, a male got into a verbal dispute with another man, and they appear to exchange words with one another and at one point, a woman steps between them.

The suspect is then alleged to have punched that man, knocking him to the ground unconscious.

Police say the suspect then proceeded to kick and stomp on the man’s motionless body before approaching an employee, pushing them and demanding they erase the video of the incident.

He then fled the restaurant on foot and was seen heading eastbound, according to police.

The victim, meanwhile, was taken to hospital with unspecified injuries.

The suspect is described as being 30 to 40-years-old, with a medium build and a beard.

Police are urging anyone with information about the suspect’s identity to come forward and contact police at 416-808-1100, Crime Stoppers anonymously at 416-222-TIPS (8477), or online.
