Acclaimed Montreal Chef Antonio Park (Park, Lavanderia) is taking over the kitchen at KasaMoto in Toronto.

The Yorkville restaurant owned by the Chase Hospitality Group shares in an email to Daily Hive that they’ve “partnered to bring exciting new menu changes to KasaMoto,” going on to say that “As the new culinary leader of the entire building, chef Park is introducing new dishes and updating the menu at KasaMoto.”

It’s a good fit for the restaurant group that is increasingly committing to offering more and more plant-based fare in Toronto (as evidenced by the opening of Planta and spin-off Planta Burger).

Similar to KasaMoto, Park’s namesake restaurant deals in sustainable and upscale sushi, and the Chef is also eyeing more flexitarian avenues with the recent announcement that the reopening of his Montreal restaurant, Lavanderia will offer a menu featuring 50% vegetarian fare – a big shift for the once, meat-heavy menu of Argentina BBQ.

“Chef Antonio Park and Chase Hospitality Group were brought together by our shared mission to emphasize high quality, responsibly sourced, sustainable ingredients,“ said Steven Salm, president, Chase Hospitality Group in a statement. “It is a pivotal moment for us to welcome such a globally-recognized chef not just into the Chase Hospitality Group family, but to Toronto.”

New to the menu at Kasa Moto, expect items such as Shrimp Tempura Caesar, Seared Scallop Ceviche, and more.
