Top attractions to check out at Aurora Winter Festival this year

As the festive season approaches, the Canadian National Exhibition (CNE) is transforming the Ontario Place West Island into a spectacular celebration of light and adventure.

That’s right… Toronto’s Aurora Winter Festival presented by CNE is coming to life for a second consecutive year.

Tickets are now on sale for the highly anticipated festival, taking place from Friday, November 22, 2019 through to Sunday, January 5, 2020.

This magical winter wonderland features four distinctive mystical worlds for guests to explore, plus enchanting characters, stunning light installations, fabulous food experiences, marketplaces, amusement rides, and more.

Top Attractions to Check Out:

Polar Pathway (New)

On the east side of the Cinesphere, take a walk along the new Polar Pathway, which features light installations along your way to the Amusement Rides featuring the 170 ft Tube slide, and other rides and attractions. Don’t miss out on this hidden gem!

Kissing Swans (New)

Nestled close to the North Pole, you will find the perfect photo opportunity in front of the kissing swans. Don’t miss out on this Instagram-worthy highlight!

Arctic Retreat

This world is filled with ice and snow and features the Yeti Cave, where Yin and Zaos are often spotted. Yin is a friendly giant and always likes to have a good time.

Hidden Hilltop

The Hidden Hilltop features a number of light sculptures and installations, including the Secret Caverns where guests can venture through three caverns, each with their own immersive light displays, as well as Candy Cane Lane which boasts giant candy installations, the Gingerbread Hut, and Candy Shack!

Luminous Gardens

The Luminous Gardens is the most alluring of the worlds and features the palace and ice throne, for Thyra the ice queen. This world also boasts giant willows and beautiful gardens. If you’re lucky, you might even see a unicorn.

Whimsical Forest

The Whimsical Forest is a quirky world with many curious things. Be sure to check out Fairy Hollow and Gnome Village. This world is also home to a family of moose, and some sly foxes.

Amusement Rides

Based on the demand for last year’s rides, the Aurora Winter Festival is bringing back the favourites including, the Ferris Wheel, Carousel, and 170ft Tube Slide, as well as adding a number of new rides and games!

Frozen Pond

The Frozen Pond is located at the heart of the festival, with picturesque views in a beautiful holiday atmosphere. Glide along real ice, skating around brilliant light installations while enjoying a fun holiday soundtrack. Bring your own skates, or rent from the Skate Shack for $7.

North Pole

The North Pole has plenty of great attractions for the family including, Storytime with Santa and His Elves, the Craft Tent, light installations along Reindeer Way, and dance parties in the Disco Den. Be sure to book your time with Santa through the Aurora Winter Festival App launching November 21.
