Canada’s biggest Filipino food fest is back on after all. Just weeks following news of its cancellation due to the unbearable cost of mounting the event, Toronto’s Taste of Manila festival will go on as originally planned according to the event’s Facebook page.

The CBC reports that city officials including Mayor John Tory and York Centre Councilor  James Pasternak, have now stepped in to save the massive community event showcasing Pinoy food and culture.

A meeting planned for Wednesday will finalize the details.

Held outdoors on Bathurst Street at Wilson Avenue, the festival is free to attend and known to attract more than 350,000 people.
