For the sixth year in a row, the Government of Ontario has released its annual list of top names for new babies, placing Olivia as the most popular name of 2017.
Lincoln has joined Ontario’s top 20 list of top baby names for the first time since the list was revealed, while Liam slipped into second place after holding the top spot for boys’ names for the past five years.
Olivia still remains the most popular baby girls’ name in Ontario since 2008.

Another interesting takeaway was that since the launch of the popular Netflix series “The Crown”, top baby names in Ontario have seen a royal increase with more parents choosing names like Elizabeth, Margaret and Winston.
After naming their newborns, parents have up to 30 days to register their child’s birth.
