Toronto's gorgeous waterfront skating rink is officially open

Whether you live in the city or you’re visiting from out of town, skating at the Harbourfront Natrel rink is a quintessential winter activity.

And it just so happens that the Natrel Rink at Harbourfront Centre is officially open for the winter season.

The rink is complete with heated indoor change rooms and its own rink-side bar and grill for those interested in getting a post-skate snack.

The best part? Skating at the Harbourfront rink is totally free.

Don’t have skates? No problem.  The rink offers affordable rentals in its Skate Change Room, located beside the Natrel Rink.

Starting in December, the Natrel Rink will also host weekend DJ skate nights for those who want to combine skating and clubbing.

There is also a canteen on-site, which is open Wednesday to Friday (4:30 pm to 9 pm) and Saturday and Sunday (12 pm to 9 pm). Hot food and drinks are also available at the rink side restaurant, Boxcar Social.

While there are plenty of skating rinks located in the city, Queen’s Quay easily offers up some of the most beautiful views of the city, and skating with a view of the lake and the city skyline is definitely a great way to spend a winter day (or night).
