There's a new holiday market coming to King Street in December

If you’ve already checked out the Toronto Christmas Market, Aurora Winter Festival and Holiday Fair in the Square, there’s a new holiday market in the city to get excited about.

Located in the heart of bustling King West at the Serpentine Pavilion (aka the Unzipped exhibit), the King Winter Market is the newest addition to the Toronto holiday event scene.

Since opening in September, the Unzipped exhibit has welcomed over 50,000 guests and will now extend its stay to host the pop-up winter market.

Visitors can look forward to a number of new (and old) holiday traditions, including the revival of the Mirvish turkey giveaway, which began in 1987 when Ed Mirvish started the long-standing tradition at Honest Eds.

Starting at 11:30 am on December 16, Westbank and construction partner EllisDon will revive this much-loved tradition, and give away hundreds of frozen turkeys to families and individuals in need.

Additionally, the King Winter Market will feature the following attractions:

Christmas Trees for Sale

Christmas trees will be available for purchase for $50 with proceeds going to West Neighborhood House. Trees will be available for purchase on weekdays from 4 pm to 8 pm and weekends from 10 am to 6 pm.

Local Vendors

On December 8, 9, 15 and 16, local vendors will sell food and holiday products at the market from 10 am to 6 pm. 

Santa Claus

The market will also be home to ‘Serpentine Santa’ who will spread holiday cheer at the market on December 8 and 9 from 12 pm to 3 pm. Guests will be invited to take holiday pictures with Santa Claus free of charge.

Holiday Movies

Guests can enjoy holiday movies that will be projected on the building wall near the market entrance. 

So bundle up, grab your friends and check out the city’s newest festive market and epic Unzipped exhibit before it’s gone.
