There's a heat warning in effect for Toronto today

Environment Canada has issued a heat warning for the City of Toronto.

It’s currently 25°C in the city as of 10 am and it’s expected to reach 32°C later this afternoon. According to Environment Canada, that will leave the city feeling more like 40°C later today with the humidex.

“High temperatures are expected to reach the low thirties today and Monday with peak humidex values near 40. Also, low temperatures tonight will only drop to the low twenties offering little relief from the heat,” states the heat warning.

A cold front will cross Southern Ontario Monday night ending the heat event.

There’s also a special air quality statement in effect for Toronto because of possible high levels of air pollution. A special air quality statement is in place due to the possibility of deteriorating air quality.
