Toronto beer lovers will soon have a new home to enjoy premium craft brews in the city.

Goose Island Beer Company is making its way across the border, joining forces with Bier Markt, to open Canada’s first Goose Island Brewhouse. The new beer destination will be at 58 The Esplanade, and is expected to open on July 17.

The new Brewhouse will have a selection of world-class beers, made-from-scratch menu, and live music in a 18,000 square foot space. The space will also include a retail store selling growlers to fill with beer brewed on-site, Toronto-inspired variants and Goose Island merchandise.

As for the delicious eats, the Brewhouse’s seasonal menu will be designed to pair with Goose Island’s local and established brews.

“We’re thrilled to bring Toronto beer lovers the Goose Island favourites that they already know and love, along with outstanding new locally made brews,” said Bernard Priest, Head Brewer, Goose Island Toronto Brewhouse in a statement. “We’re very enthusiastic about the experience we will deliver in partnership with the Bier Markt Esplanade, re-establishing its roots and being a part of the community.”

The Brewhouse will be serving Goose Island’s Classic brews, which originated in Chicago in 1988, alongside new and innovative styles developed by the local brewers. The bar will feature 12 draught taps, many of which will constantly rotate.

And with summer around the corner, patio-goers will be happy to know that the Brewhouse will feature an outdoor seating space overlooking The Esplanade and an 60-person Biergarten on the north side of the building.

The building itself is a cultural heritage site, dating back to 1882. It was once a factory used to manufacture a wide range of steel milling products, and Goose Island has incorporated that history with their Brewhouse design.

The new Goose Island Brewhouse is opening on July 17, and will be open Sunday to Wednesday from 11 am to 1 am, and Thursday to Saturday from 11 am to 2 am.
