On the menu at Golden Bubbles: HK waffles and Cheesecake Factory cheesecakes

Golden Bubbles has opened its first Toronto outpost!

Billed as “Ottawa’s most coveted and landmark Hong Kong waffle dessert shop,” the just-opened Scarborough location is just the first in the GTA – another outlet already in the works in Richmond Hill.

As far a first impressions go, the sweet scent of fresh waffles wafting through the air is always a solid start.

A display case stocked with a wide range of Cheesecake Factory cheesecake slices ready for grab-and-go (read: NO LINES!!!) is also a big draw.

House-made items include signature waffle cones loaded with scoops of ice cream and sweet fruits and toppings, along with waffles in specialty flavours and limited-time offerings like mochi waffles in flavours like matcha or taro.

Drinks-wise, there’s coffees, teas, fruit slushies, and smoothies.

Seating is sparse but will be added eventually. For now, you’re probably best to stand while trying to consume the over-the-top creations… with a pile of napkins at the ready.
