Dundas Station closing early all week, with full closure this weekend

Sep 12 2017, 12:32 am

The TTC has begun installing the final wave of its new gates.

According to the transit commission, the new paddle-style fare gates with PRESTO are now being installed at the remaining 25 subway stations and more than 50 entrances that still have turnstiles, which date back to the 50s and 60s.

Installation began at Dundas Station last night, and will continue throughout the week meaning early closures every night. Along with the nightly closures, the station will be fully closed and not accessible from September 15 to 17.

Because Dundas Station is one of the TTC’s busiest, with tighter fare lines, closing early and for the weekend is necessary to complete the construction, according to the TTC. During these times, subway trains will pass through the station without stopping.

Dundas Station will close as follows:
11 pm nightly: Sept. 10 -14 AND Sept. 18 to mid-October
– Weekend closure: Friday, September 15 at 11 pm until 6 am Monday, September 18
