You’ve seen him on Masterchef Canada Season 2, you’ve lusted after his creations on Instagram, and maybe you even got a taste at occasional stockists such as Bakecode or Kiu.
Now, finally, Christopher Siu is opening his first retail cake shop.
Siu’s brand of sweets has already become a favourite for custom cake orders and at pop-ups like The Toronto Bakers’ Market.
His first brick and mortar bakeshop called DaanGo Cake Labs will offer a rotating selection of ready-to-go cakes along with a range of desserts showcasing Asian flavours and aesthetics.

Once open, expect to find one-of-a-kind creations like, for example, one ultra-decadent dessert will be designed to look like a zen garden while combining the flavours of black sesame, sakura, and salted caramel in a multitude of textural components including layers of sponge, mousse, and cheesecake.
Look forward to an opening early this fall at the take-away bakeshop at Midland and McNicoll in Scarborough.
