Every year, Ottawa hosts the massive Canadian Tulip Festival.
The flagship festival showcases the Capital’s official flower as a symbol of international friendship hosting tulip art, floral exhibits and artistic installations from artists across Canada, culinary experiences, interactive family programming with entertainment for everyone, breathtaking fireworks set to music, guided tours, vintage military displays paying tribute to our veterans, and the WWII liberation of the Netherlands by Canadian troops, and of course, millions of tulips in bloom.
This year, the festival celebrates its 65th anniversary during Canada’s 150th Birthday with activities to delight all ages.
Taking place May 12 to 22, the Canadian Tulip Festival is the largest of its kind in the world.
Spend some time in the tulips and enjoy live musical entertainment; watch artists at work among the tulip beds at Commissioners Park, Dow’s Lake. Then head to Tulip Café, where you can have a Tulip Cookie or a Tulip Julip.
There will be special events taking place throughout the festivities, including the 65th Anniversary Tulipmania Fireworks on May 21.
So plan that road trip (or train trip) to Ottawa soon.
The Canadian Tulip Festival starts on May 12.
