SAAQ warns about phishing scam to renew driver's licences by text

The auto insurance board of Quebec, SAAQ, is warning residents across the province about a new text phishing scam.

According to SAAQ a text message is being sent out that claims to be from the insurance board. The message asks the person to pay fees to renew their license via text.

“If you receive such a text message, delete it without replying. This could be an attempt to illegally obtain personal and confidential information,” said SAAQ in a statement.
