Step back in time next summer to discover Montreal a la the sixteenth, seventeenth, and eighteenth centuries.

As part of Montreal’s 375th anniversary celebrations, a special exhibit titled “Encounters in New France” is coming to the city in May 2017.

Encouraging Montrealers to learn what daily life was like under the French regime, the exhibit will include characters from the period including First Nations.

There will also be a springtime market, strolling musicians, and craftspeople.

Finally, the festival, taking place between May 19th and May 22nd in Place d’Youville, will feature a free outdoor show produced by Pointe-A-Calliere.

Similar to Old Port’s Eighteenth Century Festival, this promises to be a historical and educational event for all!

When: May 19-22, 2017
Where: Place d’Youville, Old Montreal
