These are Montreal's 12 best neighbourhoods according to CNN
While Montrealers were getting drunk off of green beer and doing an Irish jig, famed American news outlet, CNN, was publishing an article on our fair city.
The article in question, titled “12 of Montreal’s best neighborhoods,” ranked the city’s most interesting neighbourhoods.
The author of the article, Joe Yogerst, introduced Montreal to his readers by saying, “Montreal is home to more than 200 ethnic groups that have all stitched their own patches into the urban quilt, and the city is full of distinct neighborhoods – some created hundreds of years ago and others born of the 21st century.”
He then touched on the special events taking place in 2017 owing to Montreal’s 375th anniversary, as well as the importance of cycling within the city.
Yogerst concluded the article by writing, “On foot, by bike or via public transportation, the city is ripe for exploration. Here are a dozen neighborhoods to get you started.”
From there he listed the twelve neighbourhoods below (in no particular order):
Old Montreal
Le Plateau-Mont-Royal
Mile End/Mile Ex
La Petite-Patrie
Gay Village
Little Italy
Historic Jewish Quarter
Hochelaga-Maisonneuve
Côte-des-Neiges
