We’ve finally made it to the end of the week, Montreal. Luckily, there is plenty going on around town so be sure to check out these weekend events and turn the next few days into a worthy spring stretch!

420 tribute show

Celebrate with 420 with the ultimate stoner music event, featuring Bob Marley, Cypress Hill, and Sublime tribute acts.

Spring Polish Bazaar

Looking to satisfy your Pierogi craving?

You’ll be able to do just that at Montreal’s Spring Polish Bazaar taking place from April 21 to 22. At this cultural event, you’ll be able to try out delicious Polish foods and shop for goods such as jewellery and cosmetics.

Blue Metropolis

Blue Metropolis is one of the city’s best literary festivals. Taking place annually in April, this one-of-a-kind event dates back to 1999. The festival has activities both in English and French, and features all sorts of events including readings, on-stage interviews, panel discussions, and writing workshops.

Record Store Day

On Saturday, April 21, vinyl record enthusiasts are invited to celebrate independent record stores all over the world as part of Record Store Day.

Here in Montreal, vinyl collectors can look forward to parties, in-store performances, and special releases from bands old and new.

$1 coffee day in Montreal

From April 15 to 21, the third edition of Festivals des Cafes Independent is being celebrated at over 50 independent coffee shops in and around Montreal.The event aims to highlight the craftsmanship of Montreal’s baristas who serve up some of the city’s best java. The caffeine-filled week wraps up on April 21, where participating locations will be offering customers $1 cups of coffee.

Montreal’s beloved 21 Swings (or 21 Balancoires) is returning to Promenade des Artistes this spring! Is there any better sign that spring has arrived?

Bixi Bikes

Bixi season begins April 15th and we couldn’t be more excited. Given the chilly winter we’ve had, it’s about time our favourite bike sharing program is brought back to the streets of Montreal.

Visit Montreal’s free museum

Montreal is filled with amazing museums but there is one you can visit for free anytime. The Redpath Museum is located in downtown Montreal on the McGill University campus and you can visit it anytime at no cost. The museum features exhibits focusing on natural history, biology, geology, and cultural heritage. Completed in 1882, Redpath Museum is the oldest building in Canada built as a museum.

Particles of Existence 

The Phi Centre is hosting an out-of-this-world exhibit that you definitely do not want to miss.

Particles of Existence explores new dimensions of how science and technology have brought us closer to understanding our universe and beyond.

Le Temps des Sucres

If you’re desperately in need of a maple fix head down to Montreal Olympic Stadium where a huge sugar shack festival will be happening from April 12 to 22.

Le Temps des Sucres will be featuring delicious fare created by some all-star chefs. These won’t be your ordinary sugar shack dishes. Instead, renowned Quebec chefs Martin Juneau, Marie-Fleur St-Pierre, Alexandre Gosselin, and Rémy Couture will be cooking up 4-course contemporary meals that will highlight the sweet taste of maple.

Montreal Botanical Garden Butterflies Go Free

The Montreal Botanical Garden’s annual “Butterflies Go Free” exhibit is back for another year. Taking over the Main Exhibition Greenhouse from February 22 until April 29, visitors can step into a humid tropical oasis that will make you forget all about winter.

Montreal Digital Spring

Quartier des Spectacles is hosting a unique digital art festival all season long. Throughout the months of March, April, May, and June, Quartier des Spectacles will see all sorts of events pertaining to the digital arts. These include a media lab, live musical performances, and sculptures. Be sure to check out what’s going on in Quartier des Spectacles every weekend in the spring.

Walk up Mount Royal
