A shucking good time: Montreal's annual Oysterfest returns next month

Aug 22 2017, 12:58 am

Montreal’s Annual Oysterfest is back at Terrasses Bonsecours on September 10, 2017. Featuring some of the best restaurants in Montreal, the Old Port will become an oyster-lover’s paradise for one day only.

In addition to the thousands of oysters that will be cooked to perfection and be yours for the taking, Oysterfest will feature a myriad of exciting events.

This year’s competitions include an amateur shucking competition, a seafood plating competition, and a bloody caesar competition sponsored by Walter Caesar.

There will be Oysterville Oyster Bars featuring their respective regions including PEI, NB, Massachusetts, and BC.

Some of Montreal’s coolest and most acclaimed chefs and restaurants will be on hand, serving up dishes that define their ethos. This year’s Oysterfest will welcome restaurants La Betise, Kinka Family, and Restaurant Emilianos.

Oh, and it’s not just oysters. Prepare for hundreds of food stalls selling fresh seafood to take over Terrasses Bonsecours. So if lobsters are more your jam, you’re still guaranteed to have a great time.

If you want to do it up, there will be a VIP area with views of the stage for groups of 8, that you can spruce up with couches and lighting to make it your pied a terre at Oysterfest for the whole day.

As per usual, tickets sell out fast so be sure to grab yours before they’re gone! Get your tickets here.
