Montreal is finally going to be represented properly on your keyboards. In an exciting day in the Apple world, the iconic brand has revealed its latest installments of emojis, which are funny, relevant and exactly what we’ve been missing.

The new lineup includes over 70 new designs featuring an array of things our keyboards can say that our words may not. The new emojis are available to the public in beta previews of iOS 12.1 and will be available in upcoming software updates for iOS, macOS and watchOS.

New emojis include characters with red hair, grey hair, curly hair and a bald-headed man. More emotive faces have been added along with animals, sports and food.

Among all the new options, the one that Montrealers have been longing for is finally here. Without further ado, Montreal, behold the Bagel Emoji:

Other newcomers that will resonate with the rest of Canadians in particular, are the raccoon, cold face and some sports equipment, involving our national sport.

Emojis have become a staple in the modern communication world and these new characters to the keyboard will be a welcomed addition for global users.

Apple’s new emoji characters are created based on the approved characters in Unicode 11.0. Apple is working with the Unicode Consortium to add more disability-themed emojis to the keyboard forĀ Unicode 12.0, slated for a 2019 release.

From a local standpoint, it’s going to be great to fire over the bagel emoji anytime we’re craving (or bragging) about our famous Montreal-style bagels.

With that said, thanks for the years of being our substituteĀ bagel emoji, doughnut. šŸ© šŸš«
