Montreal’s summer just got a lot more colourful. The Old Port’s Clock Tower Beach will host the Festival of Colours on July 28.

The outdoor festival is hosted by HOLI which promotes the Indian community all around the world.

The colour party is hosted by Miss Universe delegate Megha Sandhu and will feature music by Mr. Bolly, Jaya Sangha, and DJ Neerav as well as a choreographed Bollywood blast dance and bhangra style dancing.

As if that’s not enough to entice you, the crowd will be sprayed with dry paint powder throughout the day.

Certified coloured festival powder is also available at the door and guests are encouraged to brighten up the festival and its participants at their own pleasure.

Last year’s festival was certainly vibrant:

The powder is made up of natural starch powder, natural perfume, and colour dye. The powder does not stain clothes or skin.

Though no official dress code is enforced, it is recommended to wear white to better emphasize the brightness of the party.

The event will feature food trucks, bar outlets, and a rest area as well as bouncy castles for the little colourful ones. The Festival of Colours will only be cancelled in the event of severe thunderstorms, a little rain will make the crowd of colours even prettier.
