This Montreal event will have you eating food from a Latvian forest

Jan 20 2017, 12:26 am

Montreal en Lumiere has recently started releasing their 2017 schedule, and boy, is there a lot to be excited about.

In addition to the free cheese festival and black truffle brunch, the festival has planned a special culinary event using food taken directly from the forests of Latvia.

Titled, “Treasures from the forests,” the chefs at upscale French restaurant Laloux alongside chef Juris Dukalskis from Restaurant 3 in Riga, will be coming together to create a six-course tasting menu surrounding foods from the forests of both Quebec and Latvia.

For all those adventurous eaters, this is surely the event for you. Treasures from the forests is all about introducing Montrealers to “little-known products that often come from inhospitable territory.”

Promising to take guests on a “taste trip to the heart of their forests,” we can’t wait to see what these culinary geniuses come up with.

Tickets cost $75 and there are two scheduled event times, March 1st and March 2nd at 7pm.
