Montreal's Dîner-en-Blanc hosts launch party for 10th anniversary
Dîner en Blanc is an event like no other. Hundreds of people dress in white and gather for dinner – seems routine right?
It’s not.
The rules are strict: all guest must dress fashionable in white, head-to-toe. No ivory, no off-white, no beige. All white.
Once guests are registered for the event their attendance becomes mandatory, rain or shine.
Oh yeah, you also don’t know where you’re going until you’re going there.
Pretty wild.
At least, thanks to Tuesday’s event, participants will know when they’re going.
Dîner en Blanc is hosting a launch event at the illustrious Fairmont le Reine Elizabeth Hotel on Tuesday, May 15.
The event will recreate the festive and elegant atmosphere of Dîner en Blanc while offering cocktails and hors-d’oeuvres in anticipation of the announcement for Dîner en Blanc Montreal‘s 10th-anniversary date.
The long-awaited date reveal is the first step towards the immensely popular event’s checklist.
On the night of, participants are expected to arrive at a designated meeting area with their tables, chairs and picnic materials and then make their way to the secret location with their table leader either via organized public transport or chartered bus.
For the launch party, parking is available on Rue René-Lévesque and there’s also valet parking at your own cost. Fairmont le Reine Elizabeth is also accessible by metro, a few minutes walk from either Peel or Square-Victoria.
Dressing in white is not necessary for the launch party. But it’s not a bad time to flaunt what you got in white.
