The Montreal Canadiens are breaking tradition.
After years of playing at the Bell Centre with double logos for its centre ice design, something the team also did when they called the Forum home, they’re switching things up.
The Canadiens are installing ice at the Bell Centre in preparation for next season, and astute observers will notice a change. Gone is the double logo look, and in its place: one giant Habs logo.

This is what centre ice at the Bell Centre used to look like:

Most teams similarly have just one massive logo on home ice, so it’s not really a radical change per se. Still, change is always notable for a franchise as iconic and storied as the Habs.
Fans seemed happy with the change, though there was some concern about cutting it in half with the red line.
Itâs one big logo. The two at center ice always looked weird.

A big logo in the center is better but don't cut it in the middle.

Cutting the Habs logo in half is just WRONG

I like the one logo better. Much bolder, makes a better impact! Well done! đ
