This Montreal cafe will have you creating art while sipping your latte

Do you love art and coffee? If you answered yes to this question, then Le Ceramic Cafe Studio is for you.

Le Ceramic Cafe Studio allows Montrealers to sip on a latte or eat a sandwich, whilst creating some pretty magnificent ceramic art.

Here’s how it works: When you walk into the cafe, each table is adorned with all your painting needs (paint brushes, palettes, paint, and water bowls). Choose your table, and then head on upstairs where you’ll discover over 2,000 different pieces for you to paint. There are cups, bowls, plates, piggy banks, teapots, vases, pictures frames, jars, candlestick holders, garden gnomes, and more (you name it, they have it). Just check out this cute bowl…

Once you select what object you’d like to paint, you head back downstairs to your table and choose which colours you’d like to paint it. There is always an expert artistic consultant on hand to help you make your decision or answer any questions you may have.

Once you choose your paint colours, you get painting! This is the hard part. Depending on the size and complexity of your object and design, painting can take several hours.

Whenever you finish painting, you head to the cash and leave your object with the front desk to be glazed and fired in the kiln. This process takes a couple of days, so be sure to keep the receipt they give you as you’ll need it when you come back to the store to pick up your adorable piece of art.

So that’s how it works. In terms of cost, you pay for the object itself (object prices range from $10-$20), and you pay for the studio time. For an adult, one hour of studio time costs $8, 1.5 hours costs $10, and 3 hours costs $12. It’s really not too pricy so take your sweet time!

With locations all over Quebec, there’s no excuse not to visit this ultra fun, low key cafe.
