Montreal’s Mile End has been named one of Canada’s coolest neighbourhoods.

Travel+Leisure compiled a list of the hippest cities in the country and Mile End was recognized for its music, creative boutiques, and trendy bars and eateries.

The online travel magazine recommends that guests visiting Mile End should grab some delicious eats at Lawrence, Petite Maison and Lili.Co.

If you’re looking for things to do, check out Casa del Popolo, which is an all-in-one music venue, vegetarian restaurant, bar, art gallery, and fair-trade cafe.

“Shoppers should check out Boutique General 54, an independent store with women’s clothing and accessories from more than 60 Canadian and American designers,” writes Travel+Leisure.

When it comes to places to stay, try Pensione Popolo, which is located upstairs fro Casa Del Popolo. Or, if you’re into something a little fancier, the magazine recommends Hotel William Gray located in Old Montreal.

One thing Travel+Leisure didn’t mention was which spot had Mile End’s best bagels.

“One thing we left off this list: Bagels,” said the magazine. “We’re not getting in the middle of that local rivalry, so try one from Fairmount and St-Viateur and decide for yourself.”
