Few desserts can compete with the cheesecake. It’s rich, creamy, smooth, and the crust is unparalleled in the sweets world.

Montrealers with a sweet tooth will soon be able to add another spot to their must-try list with the forthcoming arrival of Japanese-based cheesecake shop, Uncle Tetsu.

Uncle Tetsu is slated to open this June and will be found at the corner of Rue Pierce and Rue Saint-Catherine.

Good news for you dessert fans – that block is going to smell like paradise and look like any kid’s dream. Uncle Tetsu will share the same block as Quebec-based dessert shop, Juliette & Chocolate, and Yeh! Frozen Yogurt and Cafe.

So long, summer body!

Uncle Tetsu cakes are famous for being small, soft and fluffy, and are known to melt in your mouth. The chain is popular in Toronto, its first Canadian branch, and Montrealers won’t have to make too many excuses to dive into these little bundles of temptation.

Though the hand-baked cheesecake is Uncle Tetstu’s most popular product, their menu boasts an array of sweets including cheese tarts, rusk bread, angel hats and honey madeleines.

The 7-inch cheesecake will sell for $10.

Anyone else feeling a little back-to-back Uncle Tetsu cheesecake and Queues De Castor?
