Inspired by Chinese and Japanese gardens, this year’s Gardens of Light will tell the story of the Son of Heaven, the Chinese Emperor. Thus, when you step into the Gardens of Light, you will also be stepping into Beijing’s Forgotten City where visitor’s can learn about key moments from the Emperor’s life and rule through stunning display of glowing lanterns, cranes, and turtles.

If you’re not planning to leave town, this is a great way to spend a day during Labour Day weekend – just think of all the Instagram pictures!
