An artisan urban market is now open at Montreal's Fairmont hotel

Montreal’s Fairmont The Queen Elizabeth is now home to the first urban market in a Canadian hotel.

Marché Artisans is a speciality grocery store that offers fresh seasonal products, takeaway foods, and ready-made meals.

The market also includes meat and fish counters, a bakery, pastry shop, a fine chocolate and crêpe station, and a concierge station with wrapping and delivery services.

The market a focuses on locally sourced produce and products. “In keeping with our sustainability commitment, the market will focus on promoting foods from artisanal producers presented by friendly staff who will assist guests in their exploration,” writes the hotel in a release.
