Extreme cold warning remains in effect for Montreal today

An extreme cold weather warning for Montreal continues.

According to Environment Canada, “the combination of very cold air and brisk winds will keep wind chill values between minus 35 and minus 44 over Western and Central Quebec until later this morning.”

The weather warning is in effect for the following regions:

  • Châteauguay – La Prairie area
  • Laval area
  • Longueuil – Varennes area
  • Montréal Island area

Today’s temperature is forecasted to reach -15° C and with the windchill, it will feel like -34°C. Around 2 cm of snow is also expected.

The freezing temperatures will continue throughout the week. However, things are expected to get warmer next Monday, as a high of -5° C is predicted.
