Everything you need to know about this year’s International Fireworks Competition in Montreal
Back by popular demand, Montreal’s International Fireworks Competition will be taking over Parc Jean-Drapeau from Saturday, July 2nd until Saturday, July 30th.
As per usual, Montreal will play host to nations from four continents who will compete to put on the biggest and brightest fireworks show in the city. Described as “30-minute pyromusical extravaganzas,” each fireworks show will have a distinct theme and will be set to music. All shows will begin at 10:00 pm on their respective dates.
Kicking things off is Quebec with “Our Heroes” on Saturday, July 2nd. From the grand opening of the competition on July 2nd, the schedule will be as follows:
July 6th: Chile, “A Musical Ride”
July 9th: Canada, “The Wild West”
July 16th: Switzerland, “Switzerland e-motions”
July 20th: USA, “Dance to the Colours of the Light”
July 23rd: Spain, “Cinemagia”
July 27th: Sweden, “Joy of Life”
July 30th: Finale, “A Tribute to Elton John”
Looking out onto the water from the Old Port is a pretty great spot to watch the fireworks. However if you’re looking to be right in the action, nothing beats heading straight to La Ronde and seeing each firework from start to finish.
