Everything you need to know about Montreal’s Barbie Expo

Aug 8 2016, 9:24 am

In case you hadn’t heard, Montreal is currently home to the Barbie Expo, the largest permanent collection of Barbie dolls in the world.

Montrealers have the chance to see and Instagram over 1,000 one-of-a-kind Barbie dolls.

The Barbie dolls on display are not your average Barbie dolls, however. Rather, Barbie Expo is an exhibition of haute couture with Barbie as the model. As the website states, “This is Barbie seen at her fashionable best, a stunningly beautiful collection chicly modeled by the 11½-inch fashion icon.”

The world’s leading fashion designers including Christian Dior, Vera Wang, Oscar de la Renta, Zac Posen, and Christian Louboutin have all created unique outfits for the Barbies on display.

Others Barbie dolls featured are those dressed up as famous movie stars, singers and fashion icons. From Marilyn Monroe and Beyonce to Marie Antoinette and Kate Middleton, all of your pop culture favourites are on display in Barbie form at the Barbie Expo.

If seeing these fascinating Barbie dolls in the flesh isn’t enough of a draw, perhaps your obsession with Instagram coupled with the doll box photo booth at the Barbie Expo will entice you.

Whether you loved Barbie dolls as a young child or are a fashionista at heart, the Barbie Expo is a must-see in Montreal.
