The Toronto-based fashion brand Canada Goose opened its largest store in Canada in downtown Montreal this past weekend.
Located at the corner of Ste. Catherine and Peel (the former home of HMV), the standalone store is 8,000-sq-ft and features a ‘cold room’ where visitors can test products in temperatures as low as -25°C.
The clothing manufacturer, which was founded in 1957, saw over a hundred animal rights activists protesting the opening of the Montreal store.
The protesters were in full force on Friday and Saturday but didn’t prevent long lineups of customers from checking out the new location.
The company issued a statement saying it is committed to the responsible and ethical use of sourcing materials in its products. Canada Goose invites people to visit their website for details about its practices.
