Amber alert cancelled but search for missing Montreal boy continues

Montreal police continue to search for a missing boy after an Amber Alert has been cancelled.

Ten-year-old Ariel Jeffrey Kouakou went missing on March 12.

An Amber Alert was issued for on March 13, but it was canceled later that evening.

“#Missing Ariel Jeffrey Kouakou: the #SPVM puts an end to the AMBER Alert. We are in the investigative mode and the research continues. We ask the population to stay vigilant and report any information regarding Ariel to 911. Thank you for your help,” said Montreal Police on Twitter.

Daily Hive reached out to SPVM for more details as to why the Amber Alert was canceled, but have not received a response.

Kouakou was last seen on Monday around 12 pm in the Ahuntsic-Cartierville area, after leaving his home to visit a friend.

Kouakou frequently visited the Youth Center at Parc Mésy, Marselin-Wilson Park, and Galeries Normandie.

The young boy is described as Black, 137 cm (4′ 6″) – 142 cm (4′ 8″), and weighing 40 kg. He was last seen wearing grey pants, a black coat, and yellow shoes.

Anyone with information about this missing child can contact 911 or their local police station.
