The Clooneys are currently hosting the Obamas at their villa on Lake Como

Personally we prefer toĀ travel solo, but there are certain travel buddies that we just wouldn’t have the heart to decline.

George and Amal Clooney are currently hosting the Obama family at their villa in the Italian paradise of Lake Como, and we’re just going to assume our invite was lost in the mail.

The Obamas have been vacationing in France and Italy, and are now staying at the Clooneys’ residence known as Villa Oleandra for a charity dinner.

But if you’re in the area, first of all, take us with you, and second of all, don’t go running to the Clooney crib just yet.

Special security measures have been implemented with this high-profile visit to ensure the privacy of the former president, actor, and their families. Boats are banned from getting within 300 feet of the villa, and pedestrians are banned from walking past, reports The Telegraph.

Every wanderluster is dreaming of an Italian summer, so it’s safe to say the Cloonbamas (that’s a work in progress) are doing something right.

Italy is full of wanderlust-worthy gems, like the picture-perfect Positano and theĀ sleepy secret of Grottole. Throughout the country you’ll find rolling hills, a picturesque coastline, olive groves, vineyards, and a limoncello-sipping lifestyle that are enough to make any Italian destination worthy of a bucket list. Lake Como is one that has recently been added to bucket lists from around the globe especially recently, in large part to George Clooney owning a villa in Laglio.

Located in the province of Como, the quaint lakeside town of Laglio is framed by limestone mountains and looks out onto pristine waters. The shores are lined with 19th-century private villas capped off by pebble stone beaches and forested hills. It’s got all the makings of a dream Italian vacation.

The area has become such a bucket list worthy destination that the mayor of Laglio has even shared with The Telegraph that Clooney buying a villa in Laglio was “like winning the lottery for us.”

ā€œHeā€™s returned Lake Como to a very high profile, not just in Europe but around the world,ā€ he said. ā€œFollowing his example, some very rich people have moved in and bought villas which were in a state of semi-abandonment. They have restored them at a cost of millions and millions of euros and that has created work for builders, carpenters, and gardeners.ā€
