You can finally (legally) get same-day cannabis delivery in Toronto

A year and over two months since legalization day, cannabis orders finally offer same-day delivery in Toronto.

According to the Ontario Cannabis Store, pot buyers have the option of having their order delivered the same day you place it.

And it’s currently only within the city of Toronto.

“Same-Day and Next-Day delivery is currently available for select postal codes within the City of Toronto, with rollout across the GTA coming soon,” stated the OCS. “Based on the success of the rollout across the GTA, other areas in Ontario will be considered in the future.”

The OCS said that for those ordering now, if the shipping address falls within the service area, the Same-Day and Next-Day delivery options will appear as a shipping method at checkout.

To have your order delivered the same day, you must place your order before 1 pm and choose the Same-Day shipping option at checkout. They say the orders will then be delivered between 6:30 pm and 10 pm that day.

And to have your order delivered the next day, you must place your order before 11:59 pm and choose the Next-Day shipping when checking out. Your order will be delivered between 6:30 pm and 10 pm the next day.

So you won’t need to ever get it delivered to work, basically.

The OCS added that buyers will receive a series of text message updates from the delivery agent providing a live tracking link and status of the delivery.

And as always, you will have to show proof that you are over 19 years of age to receive your order.

For those looking to rush their cannabis orders, same-day shipping will set you back $12.17 + HST, and next-Day shipping is $10.62 + HST.

For comparison, the OCS’s standard shipping through Canada Post Xpress delivery costs $5.65 ($5.00 + HST) per order and arrives within three business days.
