New Zealand cannabis company offering one lucky winner a trip to Canada

Gandalf may have enjoyed filling his pipe with the Hobbits’ leaf — that’s canonical, by the way — but the real Shire, New Zealand, has yet to legalize cannabis. However, with a referendum on the subject cresting the horizon, a Kiwi cannabis company is giving away a free trip to Canada for one contest winner to bask in the warm glow of our legal system.

Coast, a business that has dubbed itself New Zealand’s first recreational cannabis brand, is offering to transport one very lucky (and probably hungry) contest winner and friend to Canada.

“Ahead of New Zealand’s upcoming referendum on cannabis legalization, Coast is bringing one lucky New Zealander and their friend to Canada to experience the benefits of legalized cannabis,” reads a contest description on the company’s website.

According to an Instagram post, the winners will tour one of the largest legal cannabis farms in the world, take a CBD yoga class, enjoy a five-course infused meal, visit a unique cannabis retail experience, and meet policymakers at the forefront of legalization.

The one detail lacking in the provided information is where in the world’s second-largest country the lucky winner will be heading.
