Calgary’s Red Line CTrains were brought to a standstill early Monday morning after a child was struck by a CTrain.

Police were called to the Somerset-Bridlewood Station at approximately 8 am, CPS told Daily Hive during a phone interview.

The child was taken to hospital in life-threatening condition, but succumbed to their injuries a short time later.

Authorities say an investigation is currently ongoing.
