Virtual reality brings Stampeders superfan to a game he can’t attend

Calvin Green really loves the Calgary Stampeders. It’s only natural, of course. The Kelowna resident, now 84, played two seasons with the football team in the 1950’s. He remains an avid fan to this day, watching every Stamps game on television and following the league.

Green had hoped to attend a game this season in person, but, after a suffering a recent stroke, he is no longer able to travel to Calgary. Enter TELUS with a solution. Through the power of virtual reality, TELUS brought Green, along with his son and friends, back to the field and into the locker room of the team for which he once played.

Green’s live 360 experience is part of the TELUS #AllConnected initiative, which uses technology to ensure everyone is able to experience the excitement and passion of the sports they love. Now you can help to keep the inspiration flowing: For every use of #AllConnected on social, TELUS will give $1 to Kidsport, an organization that provides children in need with uplifting sports connections.
