Victim of early morning shooting identified as 19-year-old man

The man who was shot and killed in Calgary last week has been identified by the Calgary Police Service.

In the early hours of Wednesday, October 24, police arrived at a residence on Pensville Close SE following reports that a man had been shot. When emergency personnel arrived on the scene, the man, now identified as 19-year-old Aram Nadiri, was declared deceased.

The CPS release stating the identity of the victim also included that police believe Nadiri and the shooting suspect to have been known to one another, though it is noted that a specific motive for the shooting had not yet been established by police.

The shooting marked the 14th homicide that Calgary has seen so far this year.

Police are still investigating the incident, and are asking anyone with information on the incident, or who may have seen Nadiri between 9 pm Tuesday, October 23 and 6:30 am on Wednesday, October 24 to contact their non-emergency number at 403-428-8877.
