It’s hump day! Which means you’re halfway to the weekend.

Here are a few things happening around town today that will help you get back into the groove.

Music in the Park

Check out a free concert to celebrate the end of summer. Meet neighbours and have great time listening to the following acts: Fox Who Slept the Day Away, 36?, and The Royal Foundry.

Calgary International Film Festival

More than 35,000 people are expected to attend CIFF this week. This will be the festival’s 17th year, as it debuted in 2000 and was attended by 8,000 people. Now it features more than 200 feature-length and short films from Canada and 40 other countries around the world.

Illuminasia Lantern and Garden Festival 2016

The Illuminasia Lantern and Garden Festival returns to the Calgary Zoo for the second year in a row, and this time around there are 145 extra lanterns to dazzle you. The lanterns are seasonal-themed this year, so you’ll be taken on a journey from winter to spring, and they’ll depict culturally significant animals as well as zoo favourites. Relish in the arts of Chinese, Japanese, Vietnamese, and Korean cultures, and check out live music, an art gallery, and garden displays as well.

Wine-Ohs Open Mic

Grab your instruments and head to Wine-Ohs tonight for the ultimate jam session. Lee Taylor kicks off the evening with some songs. There is no cover charge and minors are welcome.

Million Dollar Quartet

The Tony® Award Winning musical, MILLION DOLLAR QUARTET is set on December 4, 1956.
