A day after the Pittsburgh Penguins captured the 2016 Stanley Cup, the bookmakers at Bodog have already listed the odds of winning next year.

Sidney Crosby and the boys are the favourites to repeat as Cup champs at 8-1, followed closely by 2015 Cup champion Chicago Blackhawks and the Presidents’ Trophy winning Washington Capitals, each at 10-1. The San Jose Sharks, who lost in the Final, have been given a 14-1 chance of getting the job done next year.

If you have visions of the Calgary Flames winning the Cup next year, I have good news for you. If you’re right, you’ll stand to win a lot of money, because the Flames are 40-1 long-shots.

The Toronto Maple Leafs and Buffalo Sabres have the worst odds of winning the Stanley Cup, at 66-1.
