A brand new, 100,000 square-foot YMCA is coming to Calgary in July.

The facility will serve the needs of residents and workers of the surrounding areas and will connect to existing pathways, opening up access to the Bow River. It’s being built by the City of Calgary in partnership with the Remington Development Centre.

The aim is for this facility to act as a community hub for gatherings and other social events.

Even though the Quarry Park YMCA doesn’t open until July, you can still register for swimming lessons, summer camps for children, childcare, and other programs.

Here are some of the facilities you can expect at the new YMCA:

  • Fitness centre
  • Fitness Studios
  • Indoor running and walking track
  • Gymnasium
  • 25 metre, six lane pool, as well as a leisure pool
  • Hot tubs and steam room
  • Large and small multi-purpose rooms
  • 10,000 square-foot public library
  • Food services
