Opera In The Village is back in Calgary this year, with two weekends full of free opera performances in August.

The free shows will take place in the Chautauqua Tent in the East Village on August 13-14 and August 20-21, between 2 and 7 pm.

Both weekends will feature performances from the Vocal Group KIVA and Evening Arias.

The first weekend will also showcase the Front Row Centre Players, Ukrainian Tangos with Stephania Romaniuk, and the Foothills Brass Quintet.

Meanwhile, the second weekend will also feature the Cantare Children’s Choir, Calgary Fiddlers and Band of Outriders.

There will be two ticketed performances scheduled around the free entertainment – Hansel & Gretel beforehand and Archiebaldo afterwards.

Tickets for Archiebaldo are $15, while Hansel & Gretel is $25. Entry is free to the other performances but you do need to register for a wristband online.
