Nora’s Ice Cream, a vegan small batch ice cream maker based out of Vancouver, issued a recall on several batches of their items on September 24.
The purveyor, based out out Vancouver, BC, announced that “trace amounts of dairy” had been detected in the chocolate used in certain pints of their Mint Chip and Peanut Butter & Chocolate varieties.

Nora’s has decided to voluntarily recall the following batches:
Mint Chip Exp. date 28JN20
Mint Chip Exp. date 26JL20
Mint Chip Exp. date 31AU20
Peanut Butter & Chocolate Exp. date 27JL20
Peanut Butter & Chocolate Exp. date 06SE20
Nora’s Ice Cream is available in several grocery stores in BC and Alberta.
The brand, known for their certified vegan desserts made with no artificial colours or flavours, expressed their disappointment along with the recall information and asked people to discard these pints or return them to the store where they purchased them if you have a dairy allergy or are not comfortable with eating dairy.
We are saddened to let you know that trace amounts of dairy have been detected in the dark chocolate we used in certain batches of Mint Chip and Peanut Butter & Chocolate due to cross-contamination at our 3rd party supplier’s facility. Although the amount of dairy present in the chocolate is very low, we are a proudly vegan and dairy-free company and have decided to voluntarily recall the following batches: Mint Chip Exp. date 28JN20, 26JL20, 31AU20, and Peanut Butter & Chocolate Exp. date 27JL20 and 06SE20. If you have an allergy to dairy or are not comfortable with eating any amount of dairy and you have a pint from one of the affected batches, please discard your pint or return it to the store where you purchased it.
