Lovers of night markets, mark your calendars, the Mid-Autumn Night Market is hitting Calgary.
The Mid-Autumn Night Market coincides with the Mid-Autmn Festival, a celebration based on the lunar calendar that occurs when the moon is at its roundest and brightest. This symbolizes togetherness and reunion in Chinese culture.
The Mid-Autumn Night Market takes place just before the festival from September 9 to 11. Expect goodies from vendors like Ukiyo Gifts (Pokémon GO trinkets galore), to local artisan jewellers, to delicious food like Noodle Bus.
The night market and festival are both presented by the Calgary Chinese Cultural Centre, a non-profit charity that has been serving the city for over 20 years.
