Unusual Las Vegas bucket list activities you need to try

Passport? Check. Friends? Check.

Tickets to Las Vegas? Double check.

But you and the crew aren’t going to Vegas to do the standard activities, spending all your time pool-side, table-side, or bar-side. You’re going to do something different. You’re going to enjoy a real vacation – one with exhilaration and just a touch of class.

In short, you and your friends are going to create a Las Vegas bucket list that few other people would dare to dream of. And it starts with a sexy car.

Drive a race car

You’ll get suited up in a professional race suit and helmet, test out your driving skills in a simulator, and then leave it all on the track. You won’t feel the wind rushing through your hair – this isn’t a convertible after all – but you’ll feel the power beneath your feet as the floor vibrates in anticipation of your next gear change.

Dream Racing is a driving experience that operates out of the Las Vegas Motor Speedway. It lets you drive a real race car around the track – either a Ferrari, a Lamborghini, a Porsche, or a McLaren.

Although race car driving might not seem like the typical Las Vegas activity, the impulse behind it definitely is. Las Vegas is all about enjoying wealth and opulence, but without having to spend a fortune. And that’s exactly what Dream Racing offers – a seemingly unattainable experience available to everyone.

Helicopter ride over The Strip

Fly high over the city in style via helicopter with the Vegas Voyage experience. Take in the dazzling city lights from an aerial perspective, flying over the iconic MGM Grand, The Venetian, Bellagio, Treasure Island, Mandalay Bay, Luxor, and the sky high Stratosphere.

But whatever you do, don’t forget to keep your eye out for the colourful views of Old Downtown at Fremont Street. To upgrade your tour to the next level of class, you can book a limousine transfer from your hotel.

Pamper yourself at Caesar’s Palace

Next on your destination bucket list is something iconic: Caesars Palace. But not in the way you’d expect.

Instead of taking photos with gladiators, treat yourself to a luxurious massage at the hotel’s Qua Baths & Spa. If you’re not in the mood for a massage then don’t worry – the spa’s menu has something for everyone.

If you’d rather get your hair done for the night ahead, you’ll want to treat your luscious locks at the Color Salon, which is also located in Caesars Palace. You’ll truly be getting the celebrity treatment – it’s been visited by the likes of Jennifer Lopez, LeAnn Rimes, and Gwen Stefani.

Eat gourmet cuisine

When you feel fully pampered, walk your way through Caesars Palace to the Gordon Ramsay Pub and Grill.

The famous chef conceptualized this restaurant as a mix of two distinct eating spaces – but you probably won’t be too concerned about the ambiance once you get your food. Taste the rib-sticking shepherd’s pie, and enjoy the myriad of flavours. Or sneak some fries from your friend’s plate of British fish and chips.

There’s a slew of high end restaurants in Vegas –  and the Libertine Social at the Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino is yet another one worth putting on your list. Renowned chef Shawn McClain is behind this next generation gastropub that offers a diverse menu of New American bar food. Take for example the Seared Day Boat Scallops, adorned with grapefruit butter and heirloom cauliflower.

The Cosmopolitan Las Vegas also serves up a wide range of eateries. You’ll find all types of food like Spanish, Mexican, and Italian – just to name a few. Don’t miss out on Zuma Restaurant, which serves “authentic but not traditional” Japanese food. To celebrate finishing your delicious dinner, head to chef Christina Tosi’s Milk Bar, another Cosmopolitan gem. Choose between a vast array of homestyle desserts, like the cake truffles or birthday cake – no birthdays are required in order to enjoy.

Choose your entertainment

Once you’ve eaten, it will be time to consider a multitude of fabulous entertainment options. Headliners often include celebrities and singers like Celine Dion, Ricky Martin, Rod Stewart, Steely Dan, and much more. And whatever you do, don’t forget about the comedies, Broadway style shows, amusement rides, and acrobatics performances that are just a few of the other things you can check off your Las Vegas bucket list.

To round off your epic bucket list tour of the city, hit up the new craft cocktail bar at The Venetian, a beautiful Italian-inspired hotel.

It’s here that you’ll find The Dorsey, the epitome of elegance as it takes guests back in time with a chic prohibition era style. With an extensive, hand-crafted cocktail list, your experience here is apt to be memorable and undoubtedly classy. Created by award-winning bartender Sam Ross of Attaboy and Milk & Honey fame, the cocktail list is sure to please.

Try the Booze N’ Juice cocktail if you’re feeling spontaneous – it consists of fresh pressed Granny Smith apple juice and your choice of booze. Or if you’re vying for something with a little more kick, you might want to try the Caballo Blanco cocktail, a brilliant concoction of Tequila, mezcal, fresh pineapple, ginger, lime, and bitters.

Pre-game

You want your last night in Las Vegas to be monumental, and this is an easily attainable goal when it comes to this town. Of course, some delicious pre-game drinks are absolutely essential, and you’ll want to do that at the MGM Grand’s tech savvy Level Up bar. Think of this as an adult playground – for real. With the world’s first indoor laser golf course, you’ll get lots of laughs in before heading off to do some serious dancing.

Dance

The last thing on your bucket list should be a trip to Hakkasan, one of Las Vegas’ hottest night clubs at MGM Grand.

If you want to get in, you’ll have to dress the part – no sandals, no sneakers, no hats. For gentlemen, collared shirts are a must. But once you’re dressed to impress, there’s no stopping the party.

You’ll be bouncing off the dance floor to the electronic beats of Steve Aoki, or Calvin Harris. You and your friends will be bounding to the beat, confetti surrounding you as it drifts down from the ceiling.

Eventually you’ll head back for your hotel, getting a much needed rest after dancing as though you had celebrity status. And it’s quite clear – this was the way Las Vegas was meant to be experienced.
